Best Western Plus Siesta Key Gateway

This was my first visit to siesta key. Location is a few minutes drive from the beach. Shuttle service was great and only work for tips. Hotel room was a nice size for 3 of us staying together. Staff is very friendly. Pool was beautiful, clean and always stocked with towels. Bar at pool was nice, drinks were delicious and cheap. They have music at pool which was a nice touch. Room was always clean when we got back each night. Will definitely stay again

This hotel was pretty good overall. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good (for a free hotel breakfast). We didn't go in the pool, but checked it out and it looked pretty nice. They had free popcorn in the lobby when we checked in, but I didn't try it. My only issue was that it took a while to check in. I rang the bell several times before the lady came out. As I was getting checked in, she said she had to reset something so she could take my credit card. Meanwhile, the line was three deep. Aside from that, decent hotel at a fair price.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially notable given the rambunctiousness of our wedding party. The room was clean and quiet, although the sink stopper was inoperable (can't let it affect this review, though, since I didn't report it (room 237)). The pool was beautiful, the live music was a nice surprise (beautiful voice (10-11-21)), and Alex was engaging and personable - she provided some excellent restaurant reviews. The "pool boy" was a bit grumpy when asked for towels - surprising since the sign in the rooms told us not to bring towels to the pool since the pool would provide them - they didn't until we asked. Housekeeping was very friendly and professional, although, when asked for an additional towel they only exchanged the 2 used towels. My wife uses 2 towels, one for hair - I think this may be a common request, yet not fulfilled nonetheless.

Price was higher than expected considering the prices of nearby hotels and resorts. Overall place is close to beach, restaurants and stores. Although I did not use their service, they do offer a free shuttle to the “main” local areas. Breakfast was ok- I wish they offered fresh fruit other than the over ripe bananas and serve better coffee. Carpeted rooms are small but clean. The property has a fairly big heated pool, outdoor bar and live music on selected nights. At times people were waiting by the unattended front desk, but overall once present, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel served its purpose on this unplanned getaway trip- that is a place to return to from my outdoor activities to shower and sleep. I can see myself returning to this hotel. I would recommend.

The room was musty, ants on the night stand and desk. Only after numerous calls to the front desk did housekeeping respond to clean our room and even then she didn’t after 5pm. Furthermore, I called the front desk for clean towels to be brought up to the room, never delivered. I had to request them again & picked them up myself so I could bathe to go out to dinner. The carpet was dirty, with stains and maid never vacuumed. Don’t stay in Room 430. During my checkout after addressing my complaints, manager refused to give me a monetary credit. Needless to say, I will not be staying at this property again. Staff was apologetic but offered no solutions! Very disappointed and had much higher expectations for a hotel located in the Siesta Key area. I never declined the maid to clean my room- I told her I would be out in 5 minutes and she was still on my floor, even if I complained about the ants at checkout- they were still there. I didn't decline the 1000 points, I agreed to it so I could use at another hotel and the manager forgot to add them. She must be so experienced as a Manager, she kept asking questions to one of her employees at the front desk- so get your facts right. It's not my problem you didn't have enough maids to clean- the manager said they were short handed. Furthermore, I asked for clean towels and were not brought to the room- I had to get them myself at the front desk. I am telling everyone not to stay at this hotel- I read other reviews today that your rooms are dirty, the carpet was not vacuumed. Don't be so cheap and hire more help. This was not acceptable and you should be more considerate of your guests and not be so blunt in your words. You are not professional, learn some customer service skills. You are not upholding the Best Western corporate standards and will make sure that they are aware of your low standards!

Excellent Hotel with clean rooms and pool area, breakfast was also tasty with plenty of variety. We enjoyed the pool and also the pool bar with Lisa as are bartender who is Fantastic and Excellent personality plus remembers your name and drink of choice. Hotel offers beach chairs and umbrellas also which is very nice. Only thing is you guys need to advertise the beach chairs and umbrellas because we only found out by word of mouth because no signs at front desk. Thanks for a great stay and will be back Bryan

We give this hotel 5/5, superb location very convenient to all the local things to do. Free shuttle Johnnies is awesome, just pay a tip and they drive you anywhere you want to go. Hot breakfast was outstanding, fresh and hot with plenty of variety. Rooms were very clean and comfortable with fridge, microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker. We have travelled during Covid so already knew that housekeeping was tapered back. They were available and when asked would give extra toilet rolls and shampoos off the cart. The pool area was absolutely perfect, enough lounge chairs, towels, the bar and bartender were a very nice touch. Reception crew always had a smile and was very helpful with everything we asked for. For the price and location to Siesta Key this place is excellent
